What’s in a car door?
It all started with the Lamborghini Countach. Remember its scissor doors that elicited oohs and aahs from onlookers? Actually, the gull wing doors of the Benz 300SL came in years earlier, and then followed by the BMW M1 exotica.
Well, that was a good 40 to 50 years ago and since then, you have a slew of exotic cars with doors that hinged anywhere except in the conventional places we have come to know.
Now, there are after market door kits that can convert your boring conventional car doors to swing like a scissor door or from the A-post as in a McLaren F1. Great head turners, for sure, at least on the parking lot when you open the doors.
