The SSC Ultimate Aero finally Beats the Veyron
From a distance, this looks like a Lamborghini Reventon. But when the door opens, it doesn’t have the scissor doors of the Lambo. No, it’s a lot faster. In fact, it set the Guinness world records to officially carry the title of the world’s fastest car in production, beating out the former holder Koenigsegg CCX at 245mph.
Clocking 257mph, the Ultimate Aero from Shelby Supercars (SSC) has 1183bhp to boot on a twin-turbo v8 engine – clearly a good 150bhp more than what the Bugatti Veyron – the current unofficial world speed holder at 153mph, can deliver.
And nicely on top of that, the car can be driven around town, as it’s also a street legal version – another criteria to get it tested as a production car.
