Working on your laptop PC while on the road can be a great help when you have something urgent to attend to.  I often find myself doing that when commuting in between offices while at work.

You certainly don’t want to do this if you do the driving.  This is best reserved to people who are driven.  I saw a brochure on the 7-series BMWs that have these laptops already in place for the rear seat occupants.  Now I’m not sure if these cars are equipped with wireless internet roaming access.  But I think this is another extension of the home and office to the road.
