2009 F1 Kicking off With Some Confusion
Formula One regulatory body, the FIA, couldn’t seem to get its act right for the 2009 season. First, it published a changed in its championship criteria that will have the title given to the driver winning the most circuits with the rest of the places decided by the usual points system.
And if two are tied with the same tally of wins, the driver’s championship titles goes to the one with the most points. It seems fine considering that this was done before. But the decision has created some furor among the 2009 teams especially from the high profile ones. Result: FIA will postpone the new ruling until 2010’s season. So now, it seems we’re back to the old points system.
