I’m talking about this gadget called a GPS or Global Positioning System.  Unless you know your way around town or better yet, around the state, you certainly don’t need one.  For nearly a century since folks like us have become mobile road hawks loving the automobile, we’ve content ourselves with city street maps when we want to get the right direction driving to where we want to go.

These days you have the GPS.  They are basically computers talking to satellites that let you know where you are.  And with the internet where you can download city maps, those GPS can show you where you are and where to go in seconds. Will street maps can go the way of dinosaurs?  Not so soon.  When those GPS toys start to cost like one, they will.
